As Ezra 8:15-23 says, "I assembled them by the river that runs to Ahava, and we camped there.I reviewed the people and the cohanim (priests) but found no L'vi'im (Levites) there.Then, there at the Ahava River, I proclaimed a fast so that we could humble ourselves before our God and ask a safe journey of God for ourselves, our little ones and all our possessions. For I would have been ashamed to ask the king for a detachment of soldiers and horsemen to protect us from enemies along the road, since we had said to the king, 'The hand of our God is on all who seek God, for good; but his power and fury is against all who abandon God.' So we fasted and asked our God for this, and he answered our prayer." (CJB)
Ask the Lord to choose a fast for 3 days for you before the end of the year.
As we enter this 7-day night watch before the end of the year, I believe we will receive a new anointing. Anne Tate, our Prayer Director, has developed a focus and summarized some insights from Reordering Your Day to help you along your road and into the new calendar year. I was impressed that we were to fill all four night watches during these 7 days. Find your place in the watch!
We must move corporately at this time into the new place the Lord is calling us. In doing so, we want to remember that we are currently in a wilderness season that requires watchfulness. In this season, not only must we come up from the wilderness, but we must know that snakes are waiting in the year ahead to poison our entry into the best that is being offered to us from the Lord. Therefore, we must watch, be alert and careful as we advance (read Psalm 91).
Prayerfully consider what your watch time is to be.
Let us synergize our prayers together until we cross over and Start the Year Off Right. As you pray during your time assigned by the Lord, you will become like accurate archers who HIT THE MARK in 2009. "One can put a thousand to flight in the spirit realm, and two can put ten thousand to flight." In these times of conflict, we must stay focused.
Our role as God's people is to plow forward in the spirit realm. War is inevitable, but we are a Triumphant Reserve. We need to lay aside all of our opinions and enter in and pray victoriously. Opinions will neutralize the unity necessary to release an anointing to overthrow the enemy's plan in the earth. We are grafted into God's covenant plan for the Lord’s covenant people, Israel. This is where our victory lies -- remaining true to God's covenant plan. We must have God’s same mind over this covenant.
If we stand strong, we will SEE God moving! You are a part of God's covenant plan to see God’s Kingdom advance. YOU ARE A NATION OF TRIUMPHANT PRIESTS! You are a peculiar people, a member of God's Kingdom, a nation above all nations (1 Peter 2:9). "There will always be wars and rumors of wars, but remember, the end is not yet."
